Admission

The voluntary acknowledgment that certain facts are true, astatement by the accused or by an adverse party that tends to support thecharge or claim against him or her but is not necessarily sufficient toestablish guilt or liability. In civil procedure, an admission is a pretrialdiscovery device by which one party asks another for a positive affirmation ordenial of a material fact or allegation at issue.
