Fairness doctrine

A requirement that broadcasting stations present contrastingviewpoints on controversial issues of public importance. This doctrine imposestwo affirmative responsibilities on the broadcaster: 1. To present adequatecoverage of controversial public issues and 2. To ensure that this programmingpresents differing viewpoints so that the public are fully and fairly informed.
